Professional services firm DBS has raised £1,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital at their annual charity cricket tournament, DBS BLAST.
The event, now in its third year, was held at Harborne Cricket Club as part of the firm’s ongoing sponsorship with the local cricket club.
Also for a third year in a row, No5 Chambers retained their title with another flawless performance. This time besting hosts DBS in the firm’s first ever final, and seeing off debutant firms Rödl & Partner, an international accountancy firm with an office on Edmund Street in Birmingham, and RDS Global, IT and cyber security specialists based in Derby.
Josh Henwood, Marketing Officer at DBS, spoke of the importance of such events to DBS as part of its community focus through its sister community interest company, DBS Heart:
“BLAST continues to be an important aspect of our community ethos here at DBS.”
“It has always been our aim and a great part of our ethos to provide value to our partnering organisations, while ensuring that we do our part for the community in all of the fundraisers and events that we are part of.”
“We’ve supported the Children’s Hospital previously at one of our PULSE networking events last year and connected them to a number of professionals who donated thousands to them off the back of that event. We’ve looked to support them again on a fundraiser to continue their invaluable work in the region.”
Road safety education in Birmingham and Birmingham St. Mary’s Hospice have been the benefitting causes in previous editions of DBS BLAST.
