Legal Aid Changes in Family Law On 1st April 2013 the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act (‘LASPO’) came into force in England and Wales. LASPO has made major changes to legal aid for family law. Legal aid is now only available for divorce, finance and children matters where there are domestic violence or child protection issues.
